Best of 2019 from the Widowed Parent Podcast
“We have to choose what the next steps look like. What the next days, weeks, months, years, what the next decade really looks like. And it’s kind of a two sided coin. I mean, as much as we would want to erase these changes of the past decade, erase what happened, wave a magic wand and restore things to the way they were at the start of the decade — the fact is, we can’t do that, no matter how badly we want to. So that means we have to choose what “next” looks like. And the flip side of the coin is we get to choose what “next” looks like. It’s a burden and an opportunity. All of us are in a life we didn’t choose, and now we get to choose what’s next.”
